I hope everyone is enjoying the fast approaching end of 2021 and will get some semblance of rest as we close the year! We have a couple of updates for everyone.
I. Meeting in January & Board Opening
We have a board seat (Casey's as secretary) opening in January and will have a community meeting to fill it on January 19th at 5:30PM CST. This is your official notice. The meeting will be on Zoom just like the fall meeting and the link and details will be sent as we get closer. If you would like to put your name in the hat, please fill out this form below and email it in by December 28th at 5PM. Any qualified resident will be placed on a ballot and we will elect for one seat using vote-ahead forms to be distributed after the 28th and in plenty of time to vote before the meeting. The agenda for the meeting will be fairly light so you do not have to attend to have your vote count. More to come on the ballot and somewhat brief agenda.
II. Fireworks for NYE!
As a quick reminder, we voted as a community in October to delete the section of our CCR's that said no Fireworks ever and in place of that we added language that says we can only shoot them off during times posted by the board. For New Years, those times are December 31st (NYE) from Noon to 1AM on January 1 (13 full hours of fire cracking fun), as well as on January 1st from Noon until Midnight (another 12 hours of fun). This is the official post for Fireworks times. Please remember, this was a compromise as we have a significant number of residents with animals that react poorly to the loud bangs as well as a significant number of residents that love to blow stuff up. Each holiday we will post reasonable times whereby scared animals can be cuddled and others can fire away. Please respect the hours posted (which also serves to avoid unwanted fines which we really don't want to issue). Also, remember that should the county further restrict such activities, that restriction trumps our little Board.
